FAQ

  • Can I use insurance for my sessions?

Yes! You will have to check and see if your insurance is in network with my practice and if you’ll have a copay or deductible. Currently, I accept BCBS, Aetna, United HealthCare, Humana and Medcost.

  • If I want to integrate Christian Counseling into our sessions, will that consist of anything different?

We will integrate Christian Values into our sessions and help us examine our worldview through the lens of Christ. We will still utilize interventions that have been proven effective and helpful while integrating Christian values.

  • How does counseling or therapy work?

Talk-therapy (counseling) is helpful in so many ways. Talk-therapy provides individuals ways to process their thoughts and feelings out loud, reconstruct their thinking and identify behaviors that can be damaging. Counseling also provides individuals a space to share, process, and work through emotions that they may not understand or are trying to make sense. Counseling is having meaningful conversations and helps provide understanding to your relationships, circumstances, and connection with God.

  • What can I expect during my first session with Runy?

Starting therapy can be scary and uncertain in a lot of ways. During our first session, I will gather as much information about you as I can (information that pertains to what you are going through). Regardless, the conversation will go at your pace and your comfort.

  • How much will a session cost?

I know the importance of receiving help and also making sure it is affordable. I know that therapy can become pricey and can discourage individuals from seeking help. I’d be more than happy to discuss this with you! I also accept certain insurances.

  • Will my sessions be kept confidential?

All our sessions will be kept confidential. Though it is important to keep in mind that there are a few situations where confidentiality may be broken. If you are a danger to yourself, others, or have knowledge of abuse/neglect to children or to the elderly, I will have to break confidentiality and report it to the appropriate authorities.

  • How many sessions will I have?

On average, an individual may attend counseling once a week for 3-4 months however, each individual will require different needs and support. This will depend on the situation.

  • Can I stop my sessions at any time?

You have the right to terminate your counseling treatment at anytime. If you feel you need something different or wish to no longer continue therapy, please let me know!
